Purpose of the Program

The purpose of the educational program "Children’s Rights: Theory and Pedagogical Practice" is to strengthen educators’ pedagogical understanding of the importance of children's rights as a fundamental dimension of educational practice and school life.

The program aspires to contribute to the shaping of a school environment that promotes respect, equality, democracy, and participation, empowering educators to become pedagogues who recognize the child as a rights-bearing individual and an active participant in the learning process.

Specifically, the program aims to:

  • Foster an understanding of children's rights as an integral part of the pedagogical relationship and school culture.
  • Highlight the role of the educator as a supporter, enabler, and protector of children's rights.
  • Introduce practical strategies and methods for integrating children’s rights into everyday teaching and educational practices.
  • Cultivate a critical and reflective stance on issues of childhood, power, participation, and children’s voices within the school setting.

The program adopts a pedagogical perspective that views rights not as external mandates, but as an inherent part of educational ethics and the school community.
